As we dicussed in the previous article, Backgammon is a casino game of ability and good luck. The goal is to shift your checkers safely around the game board to your inside board while at the same time your opposition shifts their checkers toward their inner board in the opposite direction. With opposing player chips heading in opposing directions there is going to be conflict and the need for particular tactics at specific instances. Here are the 2 final Backgammon techniques to round out your game.
The Priming Game Tactic
If the purpose of the blocking tactic is to slow down the opponent to move their pieces, the Priming Game plan is to absolutely block any activity of the opposing player by constructing a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The opponent’s chips will either get bumped, or result a battered position if he/she at all tries to leave the wall. The trap of the prime can be established anywhere between point two and point eleven in your board. Once you have successfully assembled the prime to stop the movement of your opponent, the opponent doesn’t even get to roll the dice, and you move your pieces and toss the dice yet again. You’ll win the game for sure.
The Back Game Plan
The aims of the Back Game strategy and the Blocking Game tactic are very similar – to hurt your opponent’s positions with hope to boost your odds of succeeding, but the Back Game plan utilizes seperate techniques to achieve that. The Back Game plan is often utilized when you are far behind your opponent. To participate in Backgammon with this technique, you have to control 2 or more points in table, and to hit a blot (a single checker) late in the game. This strategy is more challenging than others to play in Backgammon because it requires careful movement of your pieces and how the pieces are relocated is partly the outcome of the dice toss.
