Playing backgammon could be entertaining, especially if you know how to succeed by playing excellently. But occasionally a trick or two can help you even more and develop you into a better player.

One of the better game plans to succeed is to barricade your opposition in. It’ll keep them from shifting their checkers away from your home board. This has to be accomplished at the start of the match to hold your adversaries 2 checkers in your home boardthere. So you need to move your checkers to points seven, 5, and 4 as fast as possible and even two and 3 if achievable. Keep your point of 6 with the 6 pieces as it is. This will make sure that your opponent can not get out of your home board and aid your chances of locking them in to come away with a win.

By barracading your opposition in, they’ll be praying for double 6’s when all other options have been made to get those 2 pieces out of your home board. If doubles are not rolled, your opposition will be required to shift one piece at a time, as long as they toss a 6 or greater, and leave 1 piece vulnerable behind. Of course while moving your own checkers, be certain you do not leave one alone where your challenger can send you off the board to make your way through their home board.

When you are not sure what to do, hit. This can help you win because as soon as your opponent is hit, that checker is the piece they have to move before they can do anything else in the game. So if you hit them multiple times, they’ll have to get several checkers back on the board and get past your pieces to succeed. Be certain you do not hit where it’ll cause you to be open to being hit yourself. Unless of course it will be advantageous to you, as in early on in the game when your opponent will not have you locked in.

Hitting when you have a lock started can also be good because as soon as you get a couple of points barricaded, your challenger will have a harder time getting their pieces away from your home board and defeating you. It is even possible to hit them several times and get your barricade set. That way you will be able to block them from re-entering the game and even having a chance at crushing you.

These 2 tips aren’t the only way to win, but they are good ways for beginners to develop into more skillfull players. So when you conquer these, winning most of the time won’t seem like such a complex thing to do.
