As we dicussed in the last article, Backgammon is a casino game of talent and good luck. The goal is to shift your chips safely around the board to your inner board and at the same time your opposing player moves their pieces toward their inside board in the opposite direction. With competing player pieces heading in opposing directions there is going to be conflict and the need for specific strategies at particular instances. Here are the last two Backgammon techniques to finish off your game.
The Priming Game Tactic
If the purpose of the blocking plan is to hamper the opponents ability to move her pieces, the Priming Game tactic is to completely block any activity of the opponent by creating a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The competitor’s chips will either get hit, or end up in a bad position if he/she ever tries to leave the wall. The trap of the prime can be built anyplace between point two and point eleven in your game board. After you have successfully constructed the prime to prevent the movement of the competitor, your competitor does not even get to roll the dice, that means you move your checkers and toss the dice yet again. You’ll be a winner for sure.
The Back Game Tactic
The aims of the Back Game plan and the Blocking Game plan are similar – to harm your competitor’s positions hoping to boost your chances of winning, however the Back Game strategy utilizes alternate tactics to do that. The Back Game plan is commonly utilized when you are far behind your competitor. To compete in Backgammon with this plan, you need to control two or more points in table, and to hit a blot (a single checker) late in the game. This strategy is more challenging than others to employ in Backgammon because it requires careful movement of your chips and how the checkers are relocated is partly the result of the dice toss.
