As we dicussed in the previous article, Backgammon is a casino game of ability and pure luck. The goal is to shift your chips safely around the board to your home board while at the same time your opponent shifts their checkers toward their inner board in the opposite direction. With opposing player chips heading in opposing directions there is going to be conflict and the requirement for specific tactics at specific instances. Here are the last two Backgammon techniques to complete your game.
The Priming Game Plan
If the goal of the blocking plan is to slow down the opponent to move her chips, the Priming Game tactic is to absolutely stop any activity of the opponent by creating a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The competitor’s pieces will either get bumped, or end up in a bad position if he at all tries to leave the wall. The ambush of the prime can be setup anyplace between point 2 and point 11 in your game board. Once you have successfully constructed the prime to stop the activity of the opponent, the competitor doesn’t even get to toss the dice, and you shift your chips and roll the dice again. You will be a winner for sure.
The Back Game Technique
The objectives of the Back Game tactic and the Blocking Game plan are similar – to hinder your opponent’s positions hoping to improve your chances of succeeding, but the Back Game technique relies on different techniques to achieve that. The Back Game tactic is often employed when you’re far behind your competitor. To participate in Backgammon with this tactic, you need to control two or more points in table, and to hit a blot late in the game. This plan is more difficult than others to employ in Backgammon because it needs careful movement of your pieces and how the pieces are moved is partially the outcome of the dice toss.
