As we have dicussed in the last article, Backgammon is a casino game of skill and good luck. The aim is to shift your pieces carefully around the board to your inside board while at the same time your opposition shifts their pieces toward their inner board in the opposite direction. With opposing player checkers moving in opposing directions there is going to be conflict and the requirement for particular tactics at particular times. Here are the last two Backgammon tactics to round out your game.

The Priming Game Tactic

If the aim of the blocking plan is to hamper the opponents ability to shift her chips, the Priming Game tactic is to completely stop any movement of the opposing player by assembling a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The opponent’s pieces will either get bumped, or end up in a battered position if he at all tries to escape the wall. The trap of the prime can be built anywhere between point 2 and point eleven in your board. After you have successfully constructed the prime to prevent the activity of your opponent, your opponent does not even get a chance to toss the dice, that means you shift your chips and toss the dice yet again. You’ll win the game for sure.

The Back Game Technique

The aims of the Back Game plan and the Blocking Game tactic are very similar – to hurt your competitor’s positions hoping to improve your chances of succeeding, but the Back Game plan uses seperate tactics to achieve that. The Back Game plan is frequently utilized when you are far behind your opponent. To compete in Backgammon with this strategy, you need to hold two or more points in table, and to hit a blot late in the game. This plan is more difficult than others to employ in Backgammon because it requires careful movement of your chips and how the checkers are moved is partly the result of the dice roll.
