As we have dicussed in the last article, Backgammon is a game of ability and good luck. The goal is to shift your checkers safely around the board to your home board and at the same time your opposing player shifts their pieces toward their inside board in the opposite direction. With opposing player chips moving in opposing directions there is going to be conflict and the need for particular tactics at specific instances. Here are the last two Backgammon techniques to complete your game.

The Priming Game Tactic

If the purpose of the blocking tactic is to slow down the opponent to shift her pieces, the Priming Game tactic is to completely block any activity of the opposing player by constructing a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The opponent’s chips will either get bumped, or result a bad position if he at all tries to leave the wall. The trap of the prime can be established anyplace between point 2 and point 11 in your board. Once you’ve successfully constructed the prime to block the movement of the competitor, the competitor doesn’t even get to roll the dice, and you move your checkers and toss the dice yet again. You will win the game for sure.

The Back Game Plan

The objectives of the Back Game technique and the Blocking Game strategy are very similar – to hurt your opponent’s positions hoping to boost your odds of winning, but the Back Game tactic utilizes different techniques to do that. The Back Game plan is generally utilized when you are far behind your opponent. To participate in Backgammon with this tactic, you have to hold 2 or more points in table, and to hit a blot late in the game. This technique is more difficult than others to use in Backgammon because it requires careful movement of your pieces and how the chips are relocated is partially the result of the dice toss.
