The goal of a Backgammon match is to shift your chips around the Backgammon board and bear them from the game board quicker than your challenger who works harder to attempt the same buthowever they move in the opposing direction. Winning a match of Backgammon requires both strategy and good luck. Just how far you will be able to move your pieces is up to the numbers from tossing a pair of dice, and just how you move your checkers are decided on by your overall gambling plans. Players use different techniques in the differing stages of a match dependent on your positions and opponent’s.

The Running Game Plan

The goal of the Running Game plan is to bring all your chips into your home board and get them off as quick as you could. This tactic focuses on the speed of advancing your chips with absolutely no efforts to hit or barricade your competitor’s checkers. The best scenario to employ this strategy is when you believe you might be able to move your own pieces faster than your opposing player does: when 1) you have less checkers on the board; 2) all your checkers have past your competitor’s chips; or 3) your opponent doesn’t employ the hitting or blocking strategy.

The Blocking Game Plan

The primary aim of the blocking plan, by its title, is to stop your competitor’s chips, temporarily, not fretting about moving your chips rapidly. As soon as you have created the barrier for your competitor’s movement with a few chips, you can move your other checkers swiftly off the game board. The player should also have a good plan when to extract and shift the pieces that you used for blocking. The game gets intriguing when your opposition utilizes the same blocking strategy.
