As we have dicussed in the last article, Backgammon is a casino game of skill and pure luck. The goal is to move your pieces safely around the board to your home board while at the same time your opposition shifts their pieces toward their inside board in the opposing direction. With competing player chips shifting in opposing directions there is bound to be conflict and the need for specific tactics at particular instances. Here are the last 2 Backgammon techniques to complete your game.
The Priming Game Tactic
If the goal of the blocking plan is to slow down the opponent to shift her checkers, the Priming Game plan is to absolutely barricade any movement of the opponent by creating a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The competitor’s chips will either get bumped, or result a damaged position if he/she at all tries to leave the wall. The ambush of the prime can be established anywhere between point 2 and point 11 in your board. As soon as you have successfully assembled the prime to block the movement of the opponent, the opponent does not even get to toss the dice, that means you shift your pieces and roll the dice yet again. You will be a winner for sure.
The Back Game Technique
The aims of the Back Game plan and the Blocking Game plan are very similar – to hinder your competitor’s positions hoping to better your odds of succeeding, but the Back Game technique relies on seperate tactics to achieve that. The Back Game plan is generally utilized when you’re far behind your competitor. To play Backgammon with this tactic, you need to hold two or more points in table, and to hit a blot (a single piece) late in the game. This strategy is more challenging than others to employ in Backgammon seeing as it requires careful movement of your checkers and how the chips are moved is partially the outcome of the dice toss.
